Nutritional counseling is not only an important part of any weight loss modality system but what we eat or don't eat can affect us in a variety of ways, including mood swings, anxiety, inability to concentrate or stay focused and can include physical symptoms such as headaches, sweaty palms, heart palpitations or the shakes. If you are experiencing any combination of those symptoms you could be experiencing blood glucose spikes from a diet high in sugar intake and carbs but low in protein. It is strongly advised you get checked out by your primary care physician before consulting a hypnotherapist if you are experiencing any of the aforementioned physical symptoms.
Blood glucose spikes or low blood sugar can get in the way of a person accomplishing their goals due to it's characterizing traits of causing a person to have low energy levels which leave them feeling sluggish with a lack of motivation and an inability to focus accompanied by anxiety.
Fortunately there is an easy fix! We have seen dramatic results simply from dietary changes to a high protein diet, consuming foods low on the glucose index which have completely changed the course of client's lives, enabling them to achieve their goals in a more efficient and effective manner. Hypnosis helps by allowing us to plant positive food associations in the subconscious mind, which is the most resistant part of our mind to change, even when it is for our betterment. In addition to hypnosis, we will keep a detailed food journal and learn how to eat nutritionally sound and balanced meals.
If there is any possible medical etiology for why nutritional counseling becomes an important or necessary part of our work together, a medical referral from your primary care physician may need to be obtained to rule out any underlying or potentially serious health concerns.
